Girls Afternoon Out

Today I had a couple of school errands to run and one led me all the way down to where my friend Sandy lives. This is a rare occurrence because we live thirty minutes apart. We usually have to make plans to meet, but today fate brought us together. I went to her house and then I persuaded her to go with me to Sonic for a snack. Here are some pics of us at Sonic.

Before our order arrived.....

....After our order arrived!

Sandy's cheesestick

My cheesestick

Refreshed from our snack, we ventured to the Home Depot. I bought a new sprayer so I can spray my yard with round up to kill the grass behind my fence that I HATE to cut! Sandy purchased a few items for her yard project. It will look so good when finished because it already looks great now! After Home Depot, we traveled to Old Tyme Pottery. We decided not to purchase anything, which is amazing for us. Then on back to the house for a little Wii Mario Cart! It was so fun. For a pic of me driving, click here. It was super fun.

Mr. D came home from work and was famished so we decided to travel to a couple of restaurants. Sandy and I decided we wanted Popeyes. Well, Paul was driving and didn't know what to order so he drove up so I could order from the back seat. Here are some pics of our hilarious adventure.

This is me ordering.

This is me waiting to pay.

These are the "singles" that Sandy threw at me to pay for her part of the check.

This is a horrible pic of me but it is so funny I had to post it. Sandy said "suck in your gut" and so I did. Well apparently that makes everything else bigger! That is a yummy pic of our dinner.

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow!

I got my hair cut on Saturday! I love it. Here are some pics. I know they are incredibly late, but I've been preoccupied.

This is after blow dry but before straight iron.

This is after I straightened it.

Sandy is disgusted with me!

Sandy was going to do her Thursday Thirteen about randomness, but then several things I told her upset her terribly, so she decided to vent about me instead. Please click here to read her post.

Game Night!

I invited a few girls over for a night of fun, food, and games! I decided that we should have pork carnitas, chips, salsa, cheese dip, and brownies! Of course brownies fit with the Mexican theme! Duh! Carrie went with me to the Mercado to order this delightful dish because I do not speak the espanol! Kudos to Carrie!

Ashley and Katie Jane also came to play games. Yea! We decided to play Scrabble, which I believe is unfair because we were playing with a librarian. However, a fun time was had by all. The best part was when three of us used the same word and kept adding to it to form another word. Quest began this adventure, which led to question and then on to questioning. The fourth person wanted to make questioningly but didn't have the appropriate letters :(

We watched American Idol because it was Andrew Lloyd Webber night. I haven't watched AI this season so I do not know these people, but I LURVE A.L.W. so I decided to watch it tonight. They were ok performances. Everyone was in agreement that A.L.W. pants were fabulous!

Thanks to my good friends who came to my house tonight! I had a blast and I can't wait for another fun filled game night!

Nice surprise!

Tomorrow, my last four classes of the day are on a field trip! Yea! And it just so happens that I earned 2 hours of early leave time for attending Open House this summer!!!!!! I get to leave work at 1 p.m. and not have to take any sick or personal time AND I'm not missing any class time! WooHoo!

I think I should use this time to get my oil changed. I also have a couple friends coming over so I could get ready for them too!

Super fun times!

Good morning

I visited a new church this morning. They had an early service at 8:30 a.m. I LOVE early service! I had a whole day after church and it was even an hour and a half long! The sermon was great, about needing water to live and that the spiritual water is the holy spirit. You can not just expect to receive it without asking (worshipping) for it. It won't just happen without work. This "river" provides peace and power in your life. How true.

After church, I went to McD's for a biscuit and then on to the grocery. I had a list, but it was not nearly complete. After the grocery, I went to a couple of places looking for the "Wizard of Oz" for a lesson this week. I hope the lesson is as cool as I think it will be. It is for kindergarten and they are going to compare and contrast three different versions of the song "Over the Rainbow."

I drove home, unloaded the car, put up groceries, changed clothes, and have been on the phone or internet since. It is only 2 p.m. I feel accomplished! If I had gone to a normal service time (11 a.m.), I would probably still be at the grocery right now! I always take so long at the grocery.

I think I might go eat some lunch and wash some clothes.

I hope your day is wonderful!

Tour of "da hood"

Today, Sandy came to visit me in my hood. She does not often venture out my way, so I took her on a tour. First she picked up some Chickfila minis for breakfast and then we had pedis. We headed on over to the outlet mall and on to Cato and another clothing store. After not finding anything at either of those places, we did a drive-by to show her the local flea market. We decided not to stop because of our limited time. We went to a local hamburger joint and enjoyed it thoroughly! Super yummy! I took her to her co-teacher's house so they could go to a make-up party. I chose not to venture to that festivity. After the party, I met her at the mall and we went shopping some more and then met her husband for dinner. Yummy, more food. Below, you will find some pics of our day! I had a wonderful time! Yea!

Hooray!

I am off today for an "inclement weather day". I am so happy! Last night I drove an hour and a half to see my mom and some of her friends. We went to a southern gospel concert and then to the Waffle House, just like the old days.... Before I drove south, I met my friend Sandy for a snack. I was supposed to go shopping for about an hour with her, but the interstate had STOPPED moving and so I lost a lot of time trying to get to her. So we only had time for a snack. I drove home last night and got in about midnight. Of course, I checked my email and then went to bed. I was exhausted!

Today I received a text message at 6:45 a.m. The worst part, it wasn't even meant for me. What a wake up call.

Don't worry, I went back to bed and got up about 9:45 a.m. I checked my email again and now am updating you on my weekend. Today I am going to Carrie's house for a little wii and xbox. Also, we are doing lunch. Yummy, food.

Tomorrow I am hanging out with Sandy. We are going for pedis. I have NEVER had a pedi so this should be interesting. We are also going to play wii. Yea! I am sure food will be involved too.

Sunday is open, so we'll see. I will probably try to relax and gear up for the week.

Lesson Plans!

I can't believe it! I am finished with lesson plans for the rest of the year. I have a few materials to make for the lessons, but the plans are done AND emailed to both of my principals. Amazing. School is almost over. Hooray!

I don't know why I am excited. I am teaching this summer too. What am I thinking?

Love that....

chicken from Popeye's! It is so yummy! And BONUS: They gave me an extra biscuit! Oh yeah, breakfast! MMMMMMMM!!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen.....

The time has arrived to introduce you to the "Boyfriend formally known as Big Bunny" .....

I am pleased to introduce Ryan. This is a picture of us a couple of Fridays ago when we went to dinner with his friends Chacey and Caroline. Thanks to them, we now have a pic of us together.

Ryan left last night to go back to Nashville for two weeks. Boohoo.

A House full of Hardware

I just went to the GRAND OPENING of the HARDWARE HOUSE! Now, I did not need any hardware, but they were giving away goodie bags and hot dogs. Yes, hot dogs at 9:00 a.m. So the counselor at my school and I loaded up and drove on down. We teachers like free stuff. It was crazy busy when we first got there so we went to Winn Dixie for Pizza Party supplies first and then walked on over to the HH. We were greeted at the door and asked if we needed a gift bag (of course we did) and offered a yard stick (what teacher doesn't need another yard stick), and then we were continuing to walk and another guy brought up a box of stuffed turtles and gave us each one of those! WOW! What a morning. The only downside was that we were misinformed. There were NO hot dogs this morning. The cart is there with the condiments, but no weiners. We suppose that they will be coming closer to lunch. Sad.

Take the Good with the Bad

Last night was the bowling tournament. I was informed that I did not bowl correctly and therefore, no skill was involved. To which I replied, as long as I'm getting strikes, I don't care. Does it really matter if I throw the ball halfway down the lane? I think not. I tried to release the ball earlier. I can't get it to work. Oh well. Also, we took our controllers so we could have our miis and stats for the tournament. Little did we know, that you have your mii, but not the pro status that I worked so hard to achieve and maintain! I had an ugly regular ball!!!! I couldn't believe it. I was devastated.

However, we had a wonderful time! David and Sally were excellent hosts. We enjoyed playing wii playground, which I had never even heard of. We played dodgeball and everyone beat me. It was hilarious! Then we moved on to the bowling tournament. Everyone played well. We played several games and decided if we had paid to go "real" bowling, we would have spent a fortune. One could buy a wii with the money you save from not paying to bowl. And it is SUPER FUN!

We went to Jim N Nicks for dinner! It was yummo! I had the pig in a potato patch. Scrumptious. The cheese biscuits were delightful. I love their bicuits. I wish I had some right now. Mmmmm. After we played, Sally served Turtle pie. It was so good. Sally and I both picked off the chocolate as we are not fans of the stuff. The caramel was super yummy.

We chatted until David realized that is was 11:15 p.m. and Big Bunny and I had an hour drive back to my car. Then Big Bunny had another hour drive home. I am soooo sleepy today but it was well worth it. I hope we can hang out with this lovely couple again soon.

For the record, I enjoy having someone that not only will hang out with my friends, but actually gets excited to do it. And doesn't flat out refuse or complain about having to do it. I like this having a boyfriend thing. It's kinda nice :)

Have a great day!

Bowling Tournament....Wii style

Big Bunny and I are competing against a friend of mine and her husband in a wii bowling tournament tonight. This should be great fun! However, I practiced last night after a long hiatus and I almost lost my "pro" status. I had to quit before I lost my fun bowling ball. I can't compete with a regular ball! How embarrasing. Just kidding.

Anyway, we are meeting them for dinner at Jim N Nicks for some CHEESE BISCUITS!!!!! I love these biscuits. Who cares about barbecue, I want cheese biscuits! That is basically the only reason I go there. Yumm-O! I will let you know the outcome of the tournament, IF we win!

May I have your attention, please?

THURSDAY THIRTEEN: 13 Reasons I should never be allowed to have children

You may already know my aversion for kids. I have never wanted them. Here is a list of why I should never have them. And no, I will not change my mind when I get older.

1. I can't even keep my dog healthy
2. I can't remember to give my dog his meds
3. I can't leave a baby alone at the house all weekend
4. I don't remember to take my own meds
5. I like dolphins NOT beached whales (some of you know what I am talking about)
6. I am SELFISH! (with my time, money, things, well everything)
7. I don't make enough money to support my self, dog, and a kid
8. I already have 600 kids
9. I don't like to share my toys
10. I don't like the kiddie rides at Six Flags
11. I don't want to be a permanent "babysitter"
12. I will throw up at the sight, sound, smell of vomit
13. Children annoy me!
