Success!

Yea! I just posted from my phone. The first two times, I tried to send a picture, but it just didn't want me to. So, the third time, I just sent text and it went right through. Now, hopefully, I will be able to post without any problems. WooHoo!

I just returned home from my friend's house. We had a super time and enjoyed ribs and chicken wings. Her mom makes some awesome potato salad! Super yummy.

Also, I was super productive today. I cut grass, did laundry (I even hung it up!), cleaned kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, and I started on my National Board stuff! WooHoo! Tomorrow I sing at both church services and then I have to work on lesson plans. Monday, I am meeting Ryan's parents for dinner or lunch or some kind of food when they are in town.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I am trying to post from my phone. This is the third try. Third times a charm?

One Day?!!!

I applied for a Teacher Loan Forgiveness because I have taught in a Title 1 school for five years, this is my sixth. The program would forgive $5,000 of my student loan. I received what I thought was my acceptance letter today. That is until I opened it and it said I was denied because I had an outstanding loan before Oct. 1, 1998. Now, I started college in August, applied for a student loan, was accepted, and then it was disbursed. Certainly this was not before Oct. 1st and if it was we are talking about less than a month. So, I looked up my info tonight. It was disbursed on SEPTEMBER 30, 1998!!!!!!!!! One Day?! Are you kidding me? I couldn't believe I was denied because of one day! I am so calling them tomorrow and telling them just what I think of their ONE DAY!

Welcome to Oz

The tornado sirens just started sounding.  I was just watching some Netflix, so I turned it off and turned on the local news channel.  Sure enough bad weather.  So I looked outside, this is what I saw...

I really hope I don't get blown away. The sky looks so... BLUE! Where is this bad weather? Not around me. WooHoo! Stay away tornadoes!

It's Raining...

I slept late and then decided I needed to get up and cut the grass.  I staggered out of bed and got dressed, put my shoes on, and went outside... into the rain!  I didn't know it was raining.  So, I turned back around and came back inside to blog.  That is a shame.  I really needed to cut the forest growing in my backyard.

I have a lot of cleaning to do inside my house, as well.  This is my to do list.  I have to get it done by 4:00 p.m. because I have to get ready to leave by 5:00 p.m.

1.  laundry (wash, dry, hang)
2.  kitchen
3.  dining room
4.  living room
5.  bedroom
6.  bathroom
7.  vacuum
8.  lesson plans

I'm sure I'll think of other things as I go along.  I better get busy.

Last night, I met Ashley at her house and we went to meet KJ for dinner.  We had (you guessed it) MEXICAN!  Yes, for the third night in a row.  I lurve it!  After dinner, we went to a poetry reading in a little shopping village.  The directions we had we incorrect, my GPS was incorrect.  We have come to the conclusion that the place must have moved because it was not on the street listed.  The phone number was also out of service, but we know they had a phone because it rang during the reading.  We literally drove right by it, but we were so frustrated by that time, we totally missed it.  We eventually found it.

After the reading, we departed ways.  KJ and Ashley went to a bday party and I went to visit with some friends.  April came down and we all went to a couple of bars.  We ended at Hogan's.  Wow!  That's all I can say.  I had a nice time visiting with everyone.

Tonight, Heath and I are headed to his friend's marriage celebration.  They got married and are having a get together for friends.  After, we are going to my friend's "going away party".  He's moving to Finland.  How sad!  We are going to miss him.  I am going to be so tired after this weekend!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Act of Congress

Tonight, KJ and I went to see a great band, Act of Congress.  It was at the BPL.  We thoroughly enjoyed it and are discussing if we should go to their CD release party on Sept. 5.  It's only $10 admission.  I'll keep you posted.

Brandi met KJ and I for dinner tonight.  We had super yummy Mexican.  Yes, I did have Mexican last night for dinner too.  I LURVE Mexican food.

I have a super busy weekend ahead of me.  I MUST do lesson plans tomorrow at work!  I don't have time to do them this weekend.  Must be productive...

Have a Happy Weekend!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMANDA!

Car update

I forgot to let you guys know that my car is fixed. If you remember, my windows were not all working, but now they are!

Of course, my gear shift would not make the crazy sound at the dealership, so they couldn't fix it. I am now videoing everytime I shift just in case it makes a noise. No such luck, yet. I really would like to get that fixed too, while it is still under warranty.

Today, I am going with KJ to BPL to hear a band. We went to college with one of the members. It should be an enjoyable evening.

I heard a rumor that my friend April May June was coming into town. I might get to see her tomorrow and maybe again on Saturday! Yea! I hope my friends call me so we can make some definite plans. Hint, Hint...

Anyone interested in going with me to Trade Days on Saturday morning? Let me know!

Have a great Thursday!

Growth Sunday

Today, I went to my new church job.  I am singing in a sanctuary choir and conducting the 5k children's choir.  After the early service, they had "growth sunday" where everyone signs up for their extracurricular church activities (choir, sunday school, etc).  I already have 22 5k kids and not everyone has signed up yet!  Oh my!

While I was in church, Sandy sent a text and asked if I wanted to have lunch.  Of course I did, especially since she has been neglecting me this week.  When I returned to my car, I checked my phone and saw her text and I called her to see where we were eating.  She chose Outback.  It was tasty.  We did have to wait for them to open.  We tried to catch up but I'm sure we left something out.

After we ate, I came home and pulled weeds out of what I refer to as my "weed bed".  My neighbor had cut my grass for me.  She is so sweet!  I was so happy for that.  I came inside and did some dishes and laundry.  I also packed my school bag, cooked dinner, and packed my lunch for tomorrow.

Now, I am blogging.  I should be getting ready for bed.  In order to do that, I have to put sheets on my bed.  I washed the ones on there but I haven't dried them yet.  I think I will put the orange paisley sheets on.  I like those.

I have been watching the Olympics off and on.  I really haven't watched it religiously.  One thing I have noticed, some of these women are very unfortunate looking.  It really is sad.  Oh well.  I am watching the ladies floor exercises now.  I may never go to bed.  They are amazing!

Gotta force myself to bed!

Have a great week!  (I start teaching tomorrow.)

Frustrated!

I had to take my car to the dealership today for them to look at my power windows that will not roll down.  While I waited, I tried to post from the waiting room but I don't have a "post" button on my page.  I hope I can figure it out.  I have to be able to post from my phone!

Anyway, the dealership didn't have the part so after two hours, I was told I had to come back next week.  Isn't that just my luck.  And I had two other issues that I needed fixed, but my car didn't do those things when I was at the dealer, so he couldn't fix what wasn't broken.  Of course, when I left, the car started doing one of them.  I hope it does it next week when I go back to get the windows fixed.  He said it should only take about 20 minutes to fix it.  However, I can't go until after school, so I'll have to wait in line.  Who knows how long I'll be there.

Today, I NEED to do lesson plans!  I also need to clean my house.  However, I just started a new book while I was at the dealership and now I don't want to put it down.  So we'll see what I get done today.

Happy Saturday!

Today...

Sucked!

Ok, so it started out ok, but with one unbelievably thoughtful gesture, the waterworks started and I just couldn't stop.

Picture, if you will, I am walking out my front door (yes, late as usual) and a bouquet of flowers falls in my front door.  I am so surprised and I start getting teary.  Then I full out start crying and then I feel stupid.  So I finally got myself together on the way to work.  Then I went to my principal to ask her something and I just started all over again.  I was in her office for over an hour crying!  I don't know what was wrong with me today.  I really miss Ryan!

I had lunch with Ryan's parents today (after the mental breakdown).  I always feel better when I am around them.  I can stay calm even when I feel the tears coming.  I am able to calm down and not start crying.  That is a good thing.

Thanks, Heath, for the flowers.  You are very sweet and thoughtful.  (I hope your friends don't read my blog.  I don't want to embarrass you.)  I really have to assume that Heath sent them because there was no card or note or name.  Here are some pics of the flowers.

It's official...

Summer is OVER!  The kids came back to school today.  I did bus duty in the morning and afternoon, helped with registration, and tried to get my room ready.  I start teaching on Monday.  In the meantime, I am helping general ed. teachers with assessments and stuff...

I am so excited!  I went to church choir rehearsal tonight and one of my sorority sisters is singing with us!  Super Yea!  We spent two hours in my car after rehearsal catching up.  I am pumped.

Ok, so now I really need to be asleep.  So, I better get off the computer and get in bed!  Good night, all.

Running late, as usual...

So I should be leaving now.  Can't get motivated.  Better go blow dry my hair.  Will I make it to work at all today?  That is a good question.  Do you think it is ok to use a sick day on the first day of school?  Probably not :)

School Days are here

I start school tomorrow.  We have three days of professional development/workdays and then the kids start on Wednesday.  I have so much to do!  I hope I get it all done.

Tomorrow, I am having dinner with Ryan's parents.  Then I am going to Samantha's bday party.  We will have so much fun.

I don't know what I am doing the rest of the weekend.  I NEED to clean my house...

Happy Friday!!!!

I got it!

I got my new phone today!  Super yea!  I am so excited.  However, that means I have unlimited minutes and no one to talk to because most of my friends are on AT&T and now I am not :(  I have had three friends tell me they can't talk to me anymore.  How sad :(  I'm counting on your non-AT&T friends to keep my phone ringing :)

I have just one more day of freedom before I have to go back to work and I have a dentist appt tomorrow.  Blah!  What a way to spend my last day.

I almost forgot about choir practice tonight!  I was at school doing a few odds and ends thinking I would stay late and not go tomorrow.  The principal and I were talking about the decorations for the Christmas Program (yes, I know it's only August) and she called to ask a parent if we could borrow something from her church and she said she would ask tonight at church and I almost fainted.  I had TOTALLY FORGOTTEN about choir practice!!!!!  Luckily, I had enough time to go home and get dressed and still make it on time!  Phew!

Now I am about to eat dinner and play with my new Instinct!  WooHoo!

WooHoo!

My phone is here, my phone is here!!!!!!!!!!!  I am going to pick it up today!  Yea!  I can't wait.  More about that later...

Yesterday, Anna, Megan, and I went to Six Flags.  We had fun but it was so HOT!  I have some new pics, but I'll post them later (I want to go get my new phone, you know).

I hope everyone has a great day!

Popular!

This morning, I woke up and decided I should cut my backyard.  BooHoo!  When I got out there, I realized I should probably weed eat too.  I rarely do that.  However, it was a necessity today :(  So I cut the grass, went inside to cool off, and then headed back out to weed eat.  THEN I decided I needed to round up around my fence.  I was very productive this morning.  After I finished, it was time for lunch.

I called Carrie to see if she was available for lunch.  SHE WAS!  Yea!  We decided to go the new local seafood restaurant.  We had tried to eat there once before but their card machine was not working and I live in a "cash free society".  I drove up and they are CLOSED on Monday!  What?!  They just don't want me to eat there because they know I am a seafood snob.   She needed to go get a new tire, so we went to the "city" to eat.  We went to Johnny Rocket's.  It was yummy, especially the onion rings!

Before I went to lunch, I texted Sandy to see if she was available after school to get a snack.  This was before I knew I would be eating lunch so late.  She texted me later and told me she could meet for a little while.  We decided to meet at the book store.  After the book store, we went to Accessory City and World Market.  We tried the white chocolate Toblerone.  Neither of us was impressed.  I prefer the milk chocolate, which is highly unusual for me.  She left me because her mommy was coming to see her.  I wish we could have spent more time together, but at least she left me for a good reason :)

While I was hanging with Sandy, Brandi called to see what my plans were tonight.  I had none, so we made plans to meet at the teacher store.  I made a pitstop by the AT&T service center ~ more about that later.  I met Brandi when she was done at the store and we went to eat Mexican.  I basically just ate chips, cheese dip, and salsa and got my food to go.  I was still full from lunch.  The she decided we needed doughnuts, so I suggested Shipley's.  The doughnut guy was super weird.  I bought a mixed dozen for my Six Flags trip tomorrow.  I told him I wanted 4 blueberry cake but to surprise me with the rest.  I should have closed my eyes and pointed because I would've chosen better doughnuts than he did.  He chose nasty cream filled assortments.  Blah!  Oh well.  Maybe someone will eat them.  Not me!  After doughnuts, we went to walmart to spend a P.O. from Brandi's school.  I bought a few things too, like lunch stuff for tomorrow.  Then Brandi and I departed ways and now I am back at home.

Back to the AT&T service center.  The internet on my phone has not been working for about a month (when I pull up a website, it only shows wingdings) but I don't use it that often, so I haven't really noticed it.  Well, I've been needing it and couldn't use it and it occurred to me that it has been messed up for a long time.  So, last week I tried to get it fixed by calling the customer service line.  They couldn't fix that while I was on the phone, so I said I would take it to a service center.  I finally got around to doing it tonight.  There was at least an hour wait to even be seen!!!!!  So I told him I just had a quick question to see if it could even be fixed.  So, he looked at it quickly and reset the phone and it DID NOT fix it!!!!  He said the only other thing he could do was give me a new phone, but I would have to wait in line!  Well, friends, I have already ordered a phone from Sprint, but it is on backorder so I have to wait for it before I can set up service.  So, no I don't want a new phone and no I don't care that I am eligible for an upgrade!  What I want is for this P.O.S. to work for a few more days until my new phone comes in and I QUIT YOU!  So there!  Now mind you, I can not tell AT&T all this because they frown on people leaving their cult :)  Do you think they already know and that is why I am having so many problems?  Oh well.

Tomorrow, I travel to Six Flags again!  WooHoo!  I convinced the Kindergarten teachers they wanted to go again.  It wasn't too hard because I had two free tickets for them (thanks, Karla!).  How could they pass that up?  We decided to pack our lunches and park in the "cheap" parking lot to save money.  We had already bought our sports bottles so we have cheap drinks while in the park.  I am so excited to be going again!  Then we have to go back to school on Friday :(

Well, I think that is all that happened today, so time for bed...

3 Months

Ryan's plane crashed three months ago today. This is one of the worst times of my life and still hurts everyday. I know I am growing stronger everyday, but there have been some things I have been neglecting or putting off because I just don't feel like doing it. Some are cleaning my house and cutting my grass. Today, I FINALLY made myself change my relationship status on my myspace and facebook from "in a relationship" to "single". That sounds so stupid, I know. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. This is what I posted on each page...

Today, I made myself change my relationship status back to "single". This was the hardest thing I've had to do on myspace/facebook. I was so excited the day that I changed it to "in a relationship" and it REALLY sucks that I'm not anymore. I have tried to change it back many times before, but I haven't been able to do it. I know that is the stupidest thing and makes no difference but I just couldn't bring myself to do it.

Today has been three months since the crash. I feel as though I am getting stronger but it still hurts. Can you believe I am actually crying while writing this? I still love Ryan so much.

Ok, so thanks for letting me vent.

Tax Free!

Today, Carrie and I went to Office Depot's Teacher Appreciation Day. We visited a total of 3 stores! WooHoo! Free stuff. Each store gave us a "green" shopping bag with sample stuff in it. Totally cool.

Then we went to a Chinese Buffet for lunch. They had a special delicacy that I had never tried before...

One might have assumed it was supposed to be crab legs, but they looked like fried shrimp to me. Unfortunately, I did not get a pic of the actual food, nor did I sample it.

Next, we ventured to Steve & Barry's. I really wanted an item from Sarah Jessica Parker's line, but no such luck. I apparently am too big for her line but I did find size 22, so I don't know why they didn't have my size... There were some cute shirts, but I could not bring myself to buy something I couldn't wear to work. Here is one I REALLY wanted!

Then I found this one that I wanted to buy as Christmas gifts, but I didn't know what sizes to buy. Too bad, girls, you would have been SEXY! Just as a thought, do parents allow their kids to where this stuff and if they allow it, do the schools allow it? The shirts were super small, like even small enough for elementary kids.

We totally had a fun day and we are both exhausted. She had a family bday party to attend last night and didn't get to bed until early this morning too. We were so tired!

Congrats!

So that last post reminded me, my friend Caroline got engaged at the beginning of the month. Congratulations to Caroline and Chacy! I am so happy for you two and I know Ryan would be too. Keep me posted of the details!

I'm engaged!

Ok, so not really, but Brian DID ask me to marry him tonight. We were talking to some married people about how filing married taxes is awesome and that you get so much money back. Brian looked right at me and asked, "Tiffani, will you marry me?" Now his bf might not have liked that, but I did accept. He did not have a ring, but his friend had just given him a rainbow striped male genitalia lollipop. He gave that to me instead. I think we might have broken up because I left the lolli at his house. Oh well. It was nice while it lasted.

Happy Birthday to Brian! We had such fun at his party tonight. He made a fabulous ice cream cake. Super yummy! My "twin" (not really, but that is the nickname she has been given), Brandi, went with me. I took her to eat at Zoe's tonight. She had never been! I don't know if she liked it or not.

It is currently 2:45 am and I have to meet Carrie at 8:30 am at her house for some shopping. I am going to need some serious caffeine (Dr. Pepper) in the morning! Good night!

P.S.
I have been informed by a couple people that it is still flirting, even if I don't know I'm doing it. However, I can not be blamed for that because women are wired to flirt and flirting is not a bad thing. I did notice tonight that I DO flirt with gay guys ALOT! HeeHee. I guess that is pointless...
