My apologies

UPDATE: I went to my car to get my card reader and realized that I don't have the micro-sd adapter with me, so I will not be able to post as I had originally planned. Therefore, this post will be VERY VERY Late! But you can see Sandy's post recalling the same evening.

Don't be cheap!

I got a WONDERFUL Christmas present from my dear friend, Sandy. I have used it several times, including tonight, and I love it! However, I was very cheap when I bought something to accompany it. And now I am let down every time I use it. She bought me an air popcorn popper. I wanted one. I talked about it to anyone who would listen. Well, Sandy listened. This one uses only air, no oil. So it's healthier for me, well until I add the butter to it. While shopping at the Walmart after she gave me the present, I purchased the "Great Value" popping corn. It was considerably cheaper than the Orville Redenbacher brand. Let me tell you, it may have been a "great value" but it is not a "great enjoyment." The texture is stale. It's very chewy. The taste is ok. Although, the popper is SUPER! After all, it can only work with what it's given. And I didn't give it much. So next trip to the Wally World, I will be purchasing some high quality popping corn. I can not be let down every time I use such an awesome gift.

Baby, I'm a Star!

I was invited to a birthday party at a local karaoke bar. I arrived a little later than my friends and they had saved a seat for me in the corner. Of course, I responded with, "No one puts Baby in the corner!" (Aahh, Patrick Swayze. He was so hot back in the day.) Now, I love to sing, so this was the perfect evening for me. And we got there so early, there was only a small group of people there. I quickly looked through the list of songs by artist and picked a few of my faves to sing. I waited for my turn and sang my first song. I was a hit (if I do say so myself). Then a few other girls sang and then it was my turn again. WooHoo. Then the same few girls sang again and maybe a guy this time. My turn again! Yea! After that song, I had to pick another one because I can't just sit and listen at karaoke. I want to SING! Most of my readers know that I randomly break out into song on a regular basis. I love to sing! I sang one last song.

While my warm-up groups were on stage (I was the headliner after all. HeeHee. I'm just kidding), I had a chance to chat with some friends and eat some DELICIOUS strawberry birthday cake. I do not know who made it, but it was yumm-O! Now, 9:00 p.m. is my bedtime, so at 10:15 I was getting very sleepy. Although, I would've hung out and sung my heart out some more. However, my friend Sandy was ready to leave. I didn't know anyone else there, so I left with her and her husband, Mr. D. Overall, I believe a fun time was had by all, EXCEPT Sandy! To read her side of the story, please visit her blog. This was her wonderful idea to have "A Tale of Two Blogs". I think it's an excellent way to see the two sides of the story.

Fixed roof

So, it seems that three shingles had been pulled back during the strong winds we recently had. I had to have new shingles purchased for me and nailed down. $75 later, my roof should be fixed. However, the leak stain still remains! I do not want to paint my ceiling. Cuz you know I won't stop there. I'll need to paint my living room and kitchen. Well, that will lead to the dining room and hall. That's pretty much my whole house. That is not what I want to do! I don't have the time nor funds for all that!

Sleeping Beauty

Sometimes, he is just too darn cute! As soon as I turned on the camera, he opened his eyes, but he didn't move any more than his eyelids. He's too stinkin' cute! I love Winston! I wish he would've kept his eyes closed, but oh well, you get the idea!

AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!

I really love owning my own home. No really, I do! BUT I HATE having to do repairs. I was drinking my Mountain Dew from a can tonight with dinner. I was down to the last little bit and tipped my head way back and looked straight up. There is a HUGE leak stain on my ceiling! It's at least a foot long! Now it was not there last week! It has rained all day today and snowed on Saturday. I don't know when this happened but it had to be sometime this weekend or today! So I called a few friends and one told me one of my student's father is a roofer. The other said it could be a "boot". Her ceiling leaked and that's all it was. I hope this is the case because she said it's relatively inexpensive and her friend could fix it for a nominal fee. Anyone else know how to fix roofs? I surely do not! I don't even own a ladder to get in the attic to see what's going on up there. AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGG! I am so frustrated!



On a lighter note, I really LOVE this new card reader. I just thought, "hey, I should put a picture of the stain to show how upset I really am." And I could actually do it thanks to my card reader!

Happy 30th, Carrie

Last night I attended my friend's 30th birthday bash! We played "cheesy party games", ate yumm-o pork carnitas, and even watched as she busted her pinata. I stood outside for a little while, but it was below FREEZING, so I went inside and watched from the window. Her guests even took home presents for winning the games. I took home a nice gift set of bath stuff (salts, caviar, body wash, and lotion) A fun time was had by all.

I've gone international!

I had an influx of visitors today from all around the world. I do not know why but I wish to WELCOME EVERYONE! Sandy has a theory that they were clicking on the updated blogs, so I'm updating and watching to see if my blog is listed. So we'll see.

On old business: The snow has melted. The grass is a greenish/brown once again.

So I didn't wait long enough. It's snowing here. It's very light, but snowing none the less. This is the second time this week. If it accumulates, I'll post pics.

I will no longer be making plans in 2008. My new year's plans fell through due to illness, my plans for tomorrow fell through due to illnes. Therefore, my new year's resolution for 2008 is to not make plans. I am sick of being let down.

Thirteen Reasons not to grocery shop when you are hungry!

Sandy has mentioned to me that I need to post a "Thursday Thirteen" because it is Thursday after all and because I now have a blog. So here is my first "Thursday Thirteen". For those of you who don't know, I get VERY mean and sick when I don't eat. I also get a little testy if things are not going my way.

1. Ben and Jerry's "Strawberry Cheesecake"
2. Blue Bell's "Butter Pecan"
3. $203.15
4. Wasting over 2 hours
5. Not finding "clarifying shampoo" even though you looked on all endcaps and aisle
6. Only finding "clarifying conditioner"
7. Waiting in line for over 30 minutes
8. Starting to feel faint and shaky because you had not eaten enough
9. Cashier popping gum loudly (This is my biggest pet peeve!)
10. Not wanting to go through a drive through because of #3
11. Six frozen lunches, five dry lunches
12. Two frozen pizzas
13. Two different frozen drink mixes

Some of these things I needed. But I rarely buy ice cream, let alone two different kinds, because I'm not a big fan of ice cream.

Tiffani Day

Well, today I woke up late and stayed in bed because it was COLD! Then I had to get up to go to the grocery store. Decided to go to Big Lots and Fred's to look for a multimedia storage unit. I found one at Big Lots and and then headed to Walmart for groceries. I bought some plastic storage boxes for random things in my house. I spent about two hours at least in Walmart!!!! I finally got home after dark (my front porch light is blown) and tripped over a box. My new microSD card for my new phone and my 23 in 1 card reader for my computer arrived! Yea! That means pictures for you, my dear readers! Thanks Uncle Roger for finding me such a good deal on both of these items!

So, as you can see my house is not ready for company. Alas, I have a friend visiting on Monday. This is the FIRST time he has seen my house! I have to get it cleaned this weekend. I start school tomorrow. The kids come Monday and I have not written the first lesson plan! I am way behind!

Oh, one more picture. Winston found a new bed in my discarded "unmentionables". Notice Winston's new sweater. He got it for Christmas.

I hate cleaning

Today has been full of cleaning house! I really hate cleaning. I moved everything from the dining room that did not belong there into the living room. I cleaned the kitchen. I cleaned out the pantry. I washed clothes. I'm supposed to be cleaning my bedroom, I started but I stopped to take a break. I haven't put up Christmas stuff yet because I'm waiting until the rest of the house is clean. I know as soon as I put the Christmas decorations in the storage room, I will find something else that should have been packed. Therefore, I'm waiting. I really want to finish cleaning TONIGHT, so tomorrow can be a "Tiffani" day. Then back to work on Friday.

Well, enough procrastinating. Back to the bedroom that looks like my closet threw up. I'm hanging clothes, going through drawers of clothes I don't wear, and throwing out stuff. Hopefully, I'll have more space.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Ok, so here goes. My friend, Sandy, has been pressuring me to start a blog. I have had many good reasons for not starting one, but I finally ran out of valid reasons. Thus, my new blog, Tiffani Talk, has begun. I don't know how often I will blog or how interesting each entry will be. But I do know one thing, Sandy will be thrilled!

I played Wii at Sandy's all day. We had a super fun time. It was the first time I had wiied. I was pretty good at bowling, stank at baseball and was pretty decent at tennis. I was 63 on the daily fitness test. We also had a "dance off" with her neighbors (one of my sorority sisters and her husband and kids).

So, that's it for Day 1 of my blog and the new year!
